Towauna Fisher is an amazing pillar in her community. An alum of The United Way of Atlanta, Georgia Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP) she is trained to immediately fulfill higher leadership roles and responsibilities in the community/non-profit sector. She enjoys living a life of service as a communitarian making the lives better to all she serves. While matriculating at Wichita State University, she faithfully was serving the senior community as a Meals-On-Wheels driver. Graduating cum laude honor’s recognition from the Dental Hygiene program, she served as Vice President and President of SADHA (Student American Dental Hygienist Association). She also has earned Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, which prepared her with the educational tools to successful run a large corporation. Trained, certified as an American Heart Association CPR Instructor to not only save a life, also to teach others how to save lives to medical/dental professional as well as the public sector. This native of Gary, Indiana is a proud veteran of The United States Army with many stateside and abroad tours with earning the military qualification as a Sharpshooter. She is a proven advocate and voice serving on other organizations such as Colgate’s Oral Health Advisory Board and VIP Ambassador for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She is the grassroot, game changing advocate for the cancer community through her Non-profit, The Oaks of Righteousness Cancer Foundation, Inc., and being divorced after twenty-one years of marriage which began during her battle with cancer, she developed a support group. Yet, she saw a higher incidence of disharmony within the married couples, she created and led/minister a couple’s cancer support groups, C.S.I. Cancer Sex Intimacy; provides scholarships for youth entering or are in college maintaining a 3.4 GPA through creative writing and speaking skills; spiritual wellness retreats; and other programs to meet the need (s) of the cancer community to help navigate the vicissitude of cancer. She is the voice. She is the change. She is the solution. Her Cancer Foundation is known as the mediator in the healing process for the cancer patient and caregiver through three pillars of strengths, spiritual wellness, physical harmony, and mental stability. This Brigade is equipped with tactical gear and plans to help every patient win their personal battle against cancer. The "Brigade" consists of but not limited to ministers, pastors, nurses, oncologist, physical therapist, dental hygienist/dentist, barbers, nutritionists, attorneys, and managers.
